Married, 2 children, 2 grand children. My 9 year old grand-daughter is convinced she is a runner.  My 4 year old grandson loves to wear his Boston Marathon and Pikes Peak Marathon t-shirts.  He wants to run the mountain with grandpa.

Returned from vacation to Utah and Colorado with the family.  A long week of driving the highways and running a busy schedule.  The occasion was my grand-daughter's baptism in the Weber River in Oakley, UT.  Then her birthday party at my in-laws home in Lehi.  A great week.  Lesson learned, no matter how much you love them it can be a challenge to spend so many days in such close contact.  4 days on the highway in the same vehicle is tough.

My injured rib acted up on the drive from Texas to Utah.  It was a real pain in the lower back.  Got a 1 hour massage in Lehi and that was very helpful.

My first run was tonight.  Got in a 1 hour workout on the treadmill due to more rain storms in the Austin area.  I have a tough 3 weeks left to get ready for Pikes Peak.  I'm doing 8 mg of Prednisone medication for the PMR.  To be sensible, I guess my goal at Pikes Peak is to beat 6 hours 30 minutes.

More rain again today in central Texas.  Rained hard on my way home from work.  Finally at about 8:30 PM I went out and did my workout running out the lane to the road and back to the fence.  Not the ideal workout path but better than nothing.

A beautiful evening with clouds and with the moon shining as I got to the end of the run.

Great run today with Karen F, Karen H, Tam, Steve S, and Jason.  We did the Mt. Bonnell loop and then up to 2222, then over to Shoal Creek, then down Speedway over to the University of Texas campus, then to the state capital building, then down Congress, and then up the Townlake (Lady Bird) trail back to Mopac.

At the finish we saw Joe, Angel, Sean, and Pat B.  A great run that I needed real badly.  Then we went over to Maudie's for breakfast.
