Ran at Brushy Creek with Bill's group. Temp kind of hot about 88 degrees and kind of humid. Did 2 miles warm-up on the big loop trail. Then the group got together and we had 20 of us there tonight, as the group is getting bigger. Patrick showed up, I hadn't seen him for probably 6 months. He has been training with Gilbert's gazelles, as he is really fast. We jogged over the dam and then did drills. Then Bill had us run the hill loop for 40 minutes. What a great run. Each loop is 3/4 miles and ends with the hill. Recovery is a walk/jog down the hill. Ran with Joe, 1st loop at 4:45. 2nd loop at 5:04. 3rd loop at 5:09. 4th loop at 5:14. 5th loop almost a recovery loop at about 5:20. Then we pushed it the 6th loop hard and when we hit the turnaround Joe fell back. I pushed it hard on the return and blasted up the hill and finished in 4:34. Joe finished about 30 seconds behind me. This was a great workout. Then Patrick and I jogged back to the park area and I headed home. I think these Wednesday night runs are a great weekly opportunity to push it a little and get the improvement that will come from pushing harder than normal runs.
