Entry 1:  Get in a full 6 months of prep for 2009 Boston, no excuses, run a strong Boston. . . . .Entry 2: Use Pilates methods for core strengthening and flexibility improvements.. . . . . . Entry 3: Get completely healed from the muscle disorder that has plagued me since February 2006 (Polymyalgia Rheumatica)

Long-Term Running Goals:

Entry 1. Complete 10 consecutive Boston Marathons - I have done 8 so far. . . . . . . Entry 2. Continue running marathons through my 60's and into my 70's, 80's and 90's.

Personal:

Married, 2 children, 2 grand children. My 9 year old grand-daughter is convinced she is a runner.  My 4 year old grandson loves to wear his Boston Marathon and Pikes Peak Marathon t-shirts.  He wants to run the mountain with grandpa.

Sore right foot.  Yesterday I had a visit at the podiatrist where he treated my right foot for 2 plantar warts.  They do not have to cut them out any more because they have a new medicine made from bees that they can put in the plantar wart for treatment.  The treatment makes them very sore and will cause them to blister. 

The doctor said I should take a couple of days off from running, but if the pain is not too bad on Saturday that I can do my long 26 mile run.  We'll see.  Today/tonight the foot is very sore and I limp like a guy who certainly won't be running before Saturday.

At least I know that my delay is temporary and not like Benn or Kory who have been set back with the Achilles tendon issues.

Benn, Brian, thanks for the notes. This has been a crazy week. It sure reminds me that when we can run without any issues it is always a good run.
