Ran tonight at Brushy Creek park.  Cold weather with temps in the 30's so I dressed for it, but by mile 3 I was pulling off the long sleeve shirt and gloves and hat.  After 5.5 miles I joined Bill and the Wednesday night group where we did our drills and accellerations, and then ran down to the boat dock and did 6 loops from the boat dock and up through the parking lot and back to the stop sign.  Then I did 2 more aerobic miles.

I could feel the left knee just a little bit after taking the fall yesterday, but not actually an injury, just a nuisance.  No problem.

Hey Paul. So my achilles didn't hurt too bad during the run today, but it started to ache by the end of work after being on my feet another 9 hours :(. I am applying heat right now to it. I just won't feel the same if I don't get in runs during the week. Is it still okay to run with the soreness? I just don't understand where the weird soreness/scraping came from!

Benn, I would be careful not to overstress an achilles tendon issue. I have had achilles issues in the past and although it will sound crazy, some of the best recovery I received was to do trail running in preparation for Pikes Peak Marathon. Trail running demands all kinds of muscles and tendons to work together and somehow it helped with the achilles issue. For a more authoritative medical advice you can always to to http://www.webmd.com/ I got 58 entries on a WebMD search on Ashilles Tendon Pain.

http://www.webmd.com/search/search_results/default.aspx?query=achilles%20tendon%20pain&sourceType=undefined

Be careful and listen very closely, but if it were me I know I would go out on the run but slow down a bunch, a whole bunch.

Great run in the colder Texas weather. I hope your knee is better. Again your really building up the miles. I believe your going to PR Boston.
